Today’s travel author tackles what is a difficult destination for many because of recent history and stifling heat. Kevin Cato’s book, Half A Million Miles From Home, recounts his experience of visiting Cambodia. Kevin describes his trip to the Angkor Wat temples and to The Killing Fields, just a 45 minute ride from the capital. He also visited the infamous S21 prison. The ruling regime killed over one million people in this area between 1975 and 1979 . The title isn’t so much to do with distance from Kevin’s native United States or Japan where he lives, it is more to do with the hugely different culture Cambodian Culture. Keri Jones spoke with Kevin.
