The Big Heart Auction - Des Kilfeather

Jul 05, 2016, 07:48 AM

Chestnut Tree House’s annual Big Heart Auction is in its second year after raising an amazing £30,000 in 2015. This year the proceeds raised by auctioning 200 donated artworks from local, national and celebrity artists, illustrators and photographers and some of the children cared for by Chestnut Tree House will help support their vital work caring for children with life-shortening illnesses across Sussex as well as raising money for Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival’s community work projects.

We speak to artist Des Kilfeather whose donated piece this year has an Irish flavour. Its called James Joyce’s Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man; Page 221 and we speak to Des about that, his inspirations and his own Irish connection.
