SRSG appeals for Peace on South Sudan's 5th Independence anniversary

The Special Representative of the Secretary General and head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, Ellen Margrethe Loej, has urged parties to focus on the implementation of the peace agreement for the benefit of all the people of South Sudan.

Speaking on the eve of South Sudan's Fifth independence Anniversary, the SRSG called on the parties to put an end to the ongoing fighting and refrain from inflicting further violence against innocent civilians.
