International Media watchdog reporters without Borders have added their voice to the growing number of people calling for the release of Alfred Taban, Editor of the Juba Monitor Newspaper.
Alfred Taban was arrested on Saturday July 16th by National Security Services agents, a day after he published an article calling on the President and the Vice President to step down, following clashes in Juba town.
Clea Khan Sriber, Head of Reporters without Borders Africa Desk, said new of the arrest came as a shock, because Alfred Taban is a very prominent journalist whose integrity cannot be questioned.
Clea spoke with our Radio Miraya reporter Alex Agole, describing why "illegal incarceration" of journalists is unacceptable.
