Retail and hospitality businesses in Bishop Auckland are embracing the town's regeneration, Durham County Council is working with Macmillan Cancer Support on a flagship project to improve the lives of people affected by cancer and Durham Wildlife Trust has acquired land to create a new nature reserve just yards from the A1 in urban Gateshead.
