Girls softball tournament an economic hit for greater Hartford

The United States Specialty Sports Assocation's National Girls' Fastpitch Softball Championship is having a major economic impact on greater Hartford. The event, brought to the region by the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau, will generate $1.6M for Greater Hartford businesses, while the state will reap tens of thousands of dollars in sales taxes.
