7/31/16: Southwest at New England

Cole Dickinson helps New England down Southwest 6-2 at Cal Senior's Yard.

Caleb Mahan paced Southwest at the plate. Mahan went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled in the first and sixth innings.

Nicholas Tomasello got the win for New England. He allowed two runs over three innings. Tomasello struck out two, walked one and gave up three hits. Noah Toney was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.

The top of the first saw Southwest take an early lead, 2-0. The Southwest attack began with a single from Mahan. A stolen base then moved Mahan from first to second. More runs came home for Southwest when Reid scored on a wild pitch. New England scored two runs of its own in the first. New England scored on a wild pitch and an RBI single by Dickinson.

New England didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the second inning when it scored on a groundout by Michael Muller.

New England built upon its lead with three runs in the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Braydon Stellato singled, bringing home Miles Pokrinchak.
