Breastfeeding Campaign launched in Juba - South Sudan

To mark the start of World Breastfeeding Week in Juba, the National Ministry of Health in South Sudan is calling for improved awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding.

A breastfeeding awareness campaign is being launched, at the Al-Sabah children’s hospital in Juba, designed to promote the health benefits of breastfeeding to both the baby and the mother.

Dr James Jada, the Minister of Health in Jubek, says the campaign targeting mainly lactating mothers will also be used to dispel traditions that hinder exclusive breastfeeding.
