Weekend BANG! #5: Retro BANG! w/ Scott Tumilty
What it do folks Sir Aaron Carter back again with another Videogame Bang! weekend Bang! Retro edition. You heard right, retro that means we break out the bell bottoms and afros, as Sir Carter takes you on a magical ride down videogame history lane. On the show Aaron is joined as always by Cory V showing everyone that for once in a console war he picked the right side. Jada puts her two cents too, bringing all of her video game history. Back by popular demand Adam Seay whos gaming career began with a system older than most, and all the way across the pond, Geek & Sundry’s very own Scott Tumilty, joins the Bang gang bringing all his expertise of classic games.
In the first half, after some entertaining nonsense talk, Sir Carter takes the gang from the first home console to hit the market, to the present, with a wikipedia lesson, and you might be very surprised to find out who started it all and who's now out the console game. Plus the gang finds out what the real race of pac-man is. After that the gang tackles the the latest in gaming news, retro themed of course, and discusses the current state of the godfather company of video games Nintendo, and where we see the future of the company’s software.
Wrapping up the show Sir Carter brings back a retro segment known as “The Top Ten” The gang uses all their gaming knowledge, which isn't much, to figure out what top ten games were ahead of their time according to a retro web site 1up.com, may 1up.com rest in peace. Who will take the crown in the latest VGB challenge? Will Nintendo recover from their latest failures? Are retro games even still relevant in this day and age? And what in the world is “Shark Shark”? All that plus is Black History Month here on the VGB Weekend Bang!
