The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for South Sudan is calling on government authorities to investigate reports of an attack on a private compound that was housing NGO staff during the July conflict in Juba.

Preliminary findings indicate that men in uniform broke into the Terrain compound in the Jebel area on the 11th of July - killed one person and raped and brutally beat several civilians.

Speaking with Radio Miraya reporter, Nelson Lwak, Humanitarian Coordinator Eugene Owusu described the events as "tragic, heinous and deplorable."
