Today 19 August is World Humanitarian Day, a day to commemorate the service and sacrifices of humanitarian workers around the world.

Eugene Owusu, UN Humanitarian coordinator in South Sudan, says everyday humanitarian workers in South Sudan risk their lives to save lives, they brave tremendous difficulties to deliver humanitarian aid to people in need.

And yet despite these challenges, aid workers in South Sudan brave the challenges, beat the odds to reach out to the hungry and vulnerable communities in South Sudan.
