Mark McDonald says Samuel Walker showed real bravery by attempting to rescue his mum and brother from the water.
37-year-old Julie Walker and 6-year-old Lucas Walker died after getting into difficulty by the sea on Saturday 20th August.
Mr McDonald spoke with our reporter Phil McDonald about the tragedy.
