Japan says it will resume its development projects in South Sudan once full peace has been restored.
The Japan International Corporation Agency, JICA, suspended direct engagement and evacuated its nationals with the onset of the fighting in Juba last month.
The projects cover health, education, and infrastructure initiatives - including the construction of the main Juba Bridge. Speaking on the Miraya Breakfast Show, Japan’s Ambassador to South Sudan, Kiya Masahiko said peace is a prerequisite to resume operations in South Sudan.
