LISTEN AGAIN: Castleton Parish Council Opposes Parking Plans

Aug 31, 2016, 08:21 AM

Castleton Parish Council held a packed meeting on Thursday night about proposed changes to parking in the village. Chair Norman Fisher told High Peak Radio that the changes have come out of the blue and he fears they may be extended to other villages in the Hope Valley. In response, a Derbyshire County Council spokesperson said: “We’ve worked with the parish council since last summer when we approached councillors for feedback on proposals for a scheme of parking restrictions including residents’ only parking permit areas. Following comments received at that time we revised our proposals and launched a consultation to give everyone the chance to have their say about them. We will consider all the comments we receive about the revised proposals before any decisions are made. The consultation opened on August 10 and closes on Friday 2 September."
