4Mk's Perko spoke to Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Dale Last about his commitment to raise the issue of adequate compensation to land owners where land and property has to be acquired by State or Local Governments. Currently, there are very rigid procedures laid down in legislation that determines how such land is acquired and very often, the owner doesn't get anything like what they believe the property is worth - and there is no come-back.
