Top diplomats of the UN Security Council arrive in Juba this afternoon for a 3 -day visit.

While in South Sudan, the 15-man delegation co-lead by Fode Seck, the Permanent Representatives from Senegal and Ms Samantha Powers of the United States, will meet with populations directly affected by the conflict in Juba and Wau.

At the center of the visit is a council resolution approved last month to send 4,000 additional peacekeepers to secure Juba under the new UNMISS mandate.

Acting spokesperson of the UN Mission, Shantal Persaud told Radio Miraya's David Lukan, that the Council members will meet with the President and members of the Transitional government to clarify on the new mandate.

Shantal provides more details of this visit in this interview.
