Episode #4: Art the Vote

Sep 15, 2016, 07:13 PM

From Upton Sinclair's 1906 novel "The Jungle" to Tina Fey's impression of Sarah Palin on SNL during the 2008 election, the arts--both high and popular--have influenced how the American people comprehend and interact with their political system.

In this episode, I talk with Susquehanna University English professor Dr. Betsy Verhoeven about the historical and cultural impact of the arts and The Bloomsburg Exchange Gallery executive director Oren B. Helbok about the Gallery's upcoming "Art the Vote" exhibit.

You can visit the Exchange Gallery at 24 East Main Street, Bloomsburg or online at mooseexchange.org.

Instrumental music is "Bugle Feature: Altenburgs Concerto from the Handel Show" as preformed by the US Army and Old Guard Fife and Drums Corps. Music provided by freemusicarchive.org and is in the public domain.
