UNMISS message on International Day of Peace as delivered by DSRSG Moustapha Soumare

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) is urging the country’s leaders to renew their commitment to the implementation of the peace agreement.

Speaking at an event to mark the International Day of Peace at the Nyakuron cultural center in Juba, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General, Moustapha Sourmaré condemned the recent fighting in Juba and urged the transitional government and the people to put their differences aside and work together.

Mr. Sourmaré reiterated that the UN and the international community stand ready to support the country as it renews its commitment to the current peace process. We bring you his full statement.
