21/09/16 NIGERIA/RATIFIES CLIMATE AGREEMENT

As Federal Government ratifies the Paris Climate Agreement today, some environmentalists and climate advocates have called on the government, to go a step further, by proactively developing the country’s programmes for mitigation and adaptation to impacts of climate change, including drastically reducing greenhouse gas emission.

One of them, Mr. Nnimmo Bassey ,of Health of Mother Earth Foundation urged the country’s delegation to the forthcoming climate change conference in Marrakesh, Morocco, to stand on projects to actualise the objectives of the Paris Agreement , and not to fall to demands of political leaders.
