Type 2 diabetes epidemic could bankrupt the NHS

A charity is warning that an epidemic of Type 2 diabetes could bankrupt the NHS. 90 per cent of those with diabetes have the Type 2 version, which is linked to lifestyle and is largely preventable. Tonight a film on BBC1 reveals the soaring cost of treating diabetes and the human consequences of this serious condition. So what can we do to stop this, and is it time for people to take more personal responsibility for their health? And if they don't, should the NHS continue to pay for it?
