Macro talk – Central banks, FX market volatility & US elections – ActivTrades

In this segment, Ricardo Evangelista, Head of International Desk of ActivTrades talks about central banks, reasons for low volatility in the FX markets and the resilience in the equity markets despite US election uncertainty. He is joined by Tip TV’s Zak Mir and Mike Ingram, Strategist at BGC Partners.

Evangelista says his firm is more focused on spread betting in the FX markets. While talking about FX markets, Evangelista says, “Shorting Sterling is the popular trade at the moment. Most people stay in tune with current trend, although movement has been quite dynamic”.

He also discusses the reasons – Fed rate hike, future central bank actions and US elections – for the low FX market volatility. Coming to US elections, Evangelista says market believes Clinton victory would be good for business.
