Paul Kaye - Radio London

Episode 215,   Nov 02, 2011, 08:40 PM

What a voice. As befits the actor he once was. After on-air work in Kenya, Cyprus and Canada , Paul Kaye arrived in Britain at the stage when pirate stations were about to claim huge audiences. As Head of News, it was Paul’s job to ‘re-purpose’ the transcripts of BBC news to relay on the half hour on the powerful Radio London. In August '67, it was also Paul’s duty to introduce the announcements that the station was to close.

Paul later presented on Radio Luxembourg, some ILR, and continuity on Yorkshire TV. He died in November 1980 aged just 46.
