Struck by lightning - he's thrown out of his body and immediately thinks he's dead. Not quite but life would certainly take on a new flair. Recovering with very little long-term health issues, he somehow acquired a passion for music. Obsession might be a better word.
When I read about Tony Cicoria, the NDE experience was fascinating but even more interesting was the redirect in his life. I was very curious to hear his music. Here's the article in the New Yorker by Oliver Sacks.
