Our first guest this week on Peace Paradigm Radio is Wendy Chiemelewski, curator of peace history at Swathmore College’s Peace Collection. We discuss how the collection came about, why its important, and what it contains, including the section that is available online: Global Nonviolent Action Database

Then we speak with Elliott Young, professor of History and Ethnic Studies at Lewis and Clark College. He is also author of three books on borderlands, migration and transnational history. We discuss some history, as well as what sanctuary movements are like today, including an in depth discussion about the Sanctuary Campus Movement. Learn how you can become involved!

Finally, Michael Nagler, along with Stephanie Van Hook, will give us a sense of the richness of nonviolent actions, ranging from officialdom to civil society that are going on around the world today as well a very dramatic rescue story that took place during the Gujarat Riots that took place in 1992 analyses in terms of Kenneth Boulding’s model of integrative power.
