UK, a safe haven, focus on ECB - Panmure Gordon

There is no blood in the markets despite Renzi’s resignation as the move was largely backed-in.

As of now, the markets are not worried about the potential destabilising effects of Renzi’s defeat. This is because there is a popular belief that the ECB is always ready to do whatever it takes to ensure stability.

Simon French, Chief Economist at Panmure Gordon believes the focus is on the ECB… whether the central bank gets involved in the politics.

He adds, amid all the political mess in the Eurozone, the UK and Sterling are feeling like safe havens.
