Access to HIV viral load monitoring, is absent in #SouthSudan, despite the strides made in increasing access to antiretroviral drugs in this conflict striven part of the world.

The acting Country Director UNAIDS South Sudan said HIV viral load monitoring is urgently needed to provide vital information in determining when certain drugs are no longer working and need to be switched.

This is particularly important to prevent the development and passing on of resistant strains of HIV.
