A grieving mum has been told by South Ayrshire Council to remove a plastic vase of flowers from her baby girl's memorial bench.
Lesley Freeburn lost her daughter Kourtney just 20 days after giving birth to her and twin sister Caitlyn. The family scattered Kourtney's ashes in Rozelle Park in Ayr and with permission from South Ayrshire Council they bought and placed a memorial bench there. Following a complaint from a member of the public South Ayrshire Council sent an email asking the family to remove the plastic vase of flowers. Devastated the family took to facebook to vent their anger and a few hours later set up an online petition urging the council to re-think their request.
