South Sudanese Scoops Danish Livia Award for Peace

“Sometimes little things are not noticed, but they always make an impact to persons and communities.” that’s the belief of William Ongoro, recipient of the Livia Award for Peace.

William Ongoro, the former coordinator of the National Platform for Peace and Reconciliation, received his award at a colorful ceremony held in Denmark on November 28th 2016.

He was also recognized for his role to bring the contending parties together for contact, dialogue and mediation, and intervening in light of dangerous situations.

Ongoro has been speaking to Samuel Pawon about his award and what he thinks are the best ingredients for peace in South Sudan.
