Skipper’s Review – Pam Wall: an intimate portrait

Jan 10, 2017, 11:52 AM

Pam Wall needs almost no introduction. She is to sailing what Susan Sarandon is to acting. Or Jodie Foster. Or Audrey Hepburn. Perhaps a combination of the three. Pam and husband Andy sailed the world aboard their self-built boats Carronade and Kadarik, beginning with a honeymoon Atlantic crossing. They later added two crew members, children Samantha and Jamie, with whom they circumnavigated the globe, setting out in 1985. Pam is in demand as a public speaker. Her seminars are sell-outs at boat shows and her training sessions are legendary. We are privileged to welcome her as a guest on Boat Radio. Pam invited host Sarah O’Kelly into her Florida home. Their chat began as an interview about adventure but became an intimate portrait of a close-knit family whose love and understanding of the sea led them to the furthest corners of the world. This is also the story of Pam Wall’s resilience and fortitude following the loss of her husband and the premature death of her daughter. Sarah is the owner of Skipper’s Review www.skippersreview.com
