South Sudan joins global campaign against poaching and illegal logging

South Sudan is joining a global operation to combat illegal trade in wildlife and forest products.
The operation dubbed “Thunder Beat” is led by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
It will see security forces carry out joint searches at check points, markets and airports for suspected wildlife and forest products being illegally smuggled out of the country.
In South Sudan a pilot project of the program will kick start in Jubek.
Khemis Adieng Deng Spokesperson of the South Sudan Wildlife Department and outlines the objectives of the operation.
