"There is life after Obstetric Fistula" - OBGYN specialist

Juba teaching hospital is conducting registration of fistula patients ahead of a free medical camp to treat the condition.

The camp will be conducted on the 1st of February by Egyptian specialists.

Obstetric fistula, a hole in the birth canal, is considered one of the most serious injuries of childbirth caused by prolonged, obstructed labour in the absence of timely and adequate medical care.

Dr. Mergani Abdallah from the Juba Teaching Hospital says the condition can be treated with the proper medical attention.
