Greg Pickup (not pictured) from Derbyshire LGBT+ support group has told Capital the pardoning of 1000's of gay and bi men for sex offences before it was made legal doesn't wipe the slate clean.

The so-called 'Turing Law' came in yesterday, after the Second World War code breaker Alan Turing was pardoned in 2013 for a gross indecency offence in 1952. He was medically castrated and ended his own life.

Being gay was made legal in England and Wales in 1967.
