Music students in Toronto are learning about the Highway of Tears by playing an orchestral version of a Kym Gouchie song.

The story of how a heartfelt song about a national tragedy united a musician, a composer, and a group of music students. Our tale begins in November of 2016, when CBC's the Current came to Prince George to host a forum on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Local musician Kym Gouchie attended-- and Toronto music teacher Angela Rudden was listening.
