Corey Stewart Returns to Charlottesville to Save Lee

A GOP gubernatorial hopeful made his third trip in a month to Charlottesville Tuesday to keep a Confederate statue from moving out of a park. Hawes Spencer explains why.
Corey Stewart lives in Northern Virginia, but he's become a familiar face in this college town, which recently voted to move a monumental bronze of Robert E. Lee.
"Only tyrants try to change history; only tyrants try to rewrite history."
Stewart got support from a black veteran named Thaddeus Alexander.
"Unless Lee's statue comes alive and starts chasing me down the street, I really don't care."
Pundit Quentin Kidd: "The idea of defending a Confederate statue resonates across the state."
It didn't resonate with David Swanson: "Tell cities what they can and cannot do with their parks. That's not only not small government; it's not good government."
