3 Soldiers arrested for Rape accusations

Three SPLA soldiers have been arrested in connection with the rape of 11 women in Kobe village last month.

Army spokesperson Brig Lul Ruai said the suspects will be tried before an army court martial.

Radio Miraya broke the story that men in uniform had raped women and girls in Kobe village in Lokiliri County, along the Juba-Nimule road last month.

Bishop Paul Banjamin Yugusuk of the Episcopal church told Radio Miraya that the victims included girls under the age of 13.

Over three thousand-villagers were displaced by the incident.
