What to expect from UK Budget? - Berenberg

Mar 06, 2017, 03:13 PM

Are you looking forward to Wednesday’s UK Budget Statement? If yes, then this is a must watch segment as Kallum Pickering, UK Economist at Berenberg discusses what may or may not come through from the Budget Statement.

Optimists would be disappointed to know that budget is unlikely to offer anything that would significantly boost consumption/domestic demand.

Pickering also talks about business rates, private and public sector spending and less need for borrowing, given the economy has held up well in the post referendum period.

Real rates to remain negative in the US

Coming to the Fed rate hike saga, Pickering says the Fed is good to go and aptly points to the fact that despite three rate hikes this year the real rates would still be negative.
