UNMAS engages students to raise awareness about mines and UXOs

The United Nations Mine Action Service - UNMAS is engaging students for a ‘Risk Education competition’ aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of unexploded mines and ordinances.

The one-day competition at the Nyakuron cultural center has been organised by the United Nations Mine action service – UNMAS, in collaboration with the National Mine Action Authority, and will feature students from 9 schools performing songs about recognizing, minimizing and reporting explosive risks.

The winners will be coached be local musicians ‘the Jay Family’ and will subsequently record a song and video with UNMISS, which will be launched on 4th April, the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action.
