The government has declared tomorrow Friday 10th March a public holiday in commemoration of the National Day of Prayers.

Speaking on the Miraya Breakfast Show, Speaker of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly, Anthony Lino Makana, also Chairperson of the organizing committee, said main prayers will be held at the John Garang Mausoleum - as declared by President Salva Kiir last week, with similar events held simultaneously in all states across the country.

But how significant is this event in light of the conflict that has raged in the country?
