Addicks fan, former Charlton Live team member and now Crawley Town FC media officer Alex Stedman was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the start of February.

Following a moving phone call from former Welsh international and cancer survivor John Hartson, Alex set out to use his position in the game to help raise funds for the John Hartson Foundation - a charity which aims to increase awareness of the condition and raise funds to support those whose lives are touched by cancer.

Following a superb gesture by the players and staff of Wycombe Wanderers FC and their manager Gareth Ainsworth to get the ball rolling on donations, clubs up and down the length of the country have been sending Alex signed shirts, balls and of course their best wishes as he sets out to raise money.

Alex tells Charlton Live the extraordinary story of his last few weeks.
