Central Bank Deputy Governor explains new regulations on large cash transactions

The 1st Deputy Governor of the Bank of South Sudan says new directives issued by the Central Bank on large cash transactions are not meant to restrict businesses and personal transactions. Speaking exclusively on the Miraya Breakfast Show, Dier Tong Ngor said withdrawals, deposits and foreign exchange transactions should continue through the new procedures. The new regulations require forms to be submitted—both by financial institutions, as well as bank customers—each time a cash transaction in excess of 10, thousand dollars occurs.

Dier Tong Ngor said exemptions will be given in special cases.
