Yesterday we broke the story that there are currently 124 drivers in Northern Ireland that have 12 or more points on their licence and have not been disqualified from driving. The highest has 20 points. During the discussion, Stephen put it to former Assistant Chief Constable Alan McQuillan that it was his belief that motorists were allowed a 10 per cent leeway on their speed plus two. It led to callers to the programme saying that they had been done for less than that margin, such as Scott who got three points for doing 34 in a 30. So we went back to the PSNI to get some clarity. Stephen was joined by Inspector Rosie Leech from the Roads Policing Unit.
