Nolan exclusive - over 2000 civil service staff off on sick leave last year due to mental health related illness

Figures obtained through a Freedom of Information act by the Nolan Show, shows that there were over 2000 civil service staff of on sick leave last year due to Mental Health related illnesses with one department having 715 members of staff absent. In total over 94,000 working days were lost last year. What was formally the Department of Social Development had the highest number of absentees with mental health related illness which is classed as Anxiety/Stress/Depression/Other Psychiatric Illnesses.
