On World Press Freedom Day, the Chairperson of the Association of Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS) is calling on the government not look at media as an enemy.

Alfred Taban lo Gune who is also the Editor in Chief of the Juba Monitor newspaper told Radio MIraya that news editors are operating in a difficult environment.

Taban said the media institutions are now working under a self-imposed censorship, which is against professional media ethics, with security personnel deciding what story should be published in the newspapers.
