Episode 267,   Dec 16, 2011, 12:47 AM

Jack Jackson died in1978. He was one of the first 'disc jockeys' and his improvised chit-chat, punctuated by comedy clips was to influence both Everett and Edmonds; and as one listens to his work that much is clear.

Jack was a trumpeter and bandleader, born in Barnsley. Playing in dance-bands, he eventually ended up at the Dorchester; whilst hosting a show on Radio Luxembourg. After the War, he presented 'Record Roundabout' on the Light Programme.
