IFRC appeals for Coordinated efforts to contain Ebola Outbreak in DRC

With 20 suspected cases of Ebola in Northern Bas Uele province, of the Democratic Republic of Congo, every effort is being made to contain the epidemic from spreading.

By Tuesday, three deaths had been confirmed with 400 contacts under surveillance.

The World Health Organization - WHO has dispatched teams to carry out further investigative work.

The International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent is one of the international humanitarian agencies with teams on the ground. As Amanda McClelland IFCR’s public health in emergencies senior officer, explained to Alex Agole, more efforts are needed to coordinate case management.
