A surgeon who carried out unnecessary mastectomies in the West Midlands will be sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court later.

59-year-old Ian Paterson (pictured) was convicted of 20 counts of wounding with intent, police think he did it for no other reason than making money through his private practise.

The case has cost the NHS around 18 million pounds in settlements.
