UNDP and Partners focus on Recovery and Stabilization program in South Sudan

The United Nations Development Program - UNDP in partnership with WFP, UNICEF and FAO, is making progress on a joint recovery and stabilization programme to respond to the high prevalence of food insecurity and malnutrition in Aweil.

The main pillars of the joint programme comprise promotion of food security, generation of sustainable livelihoods and revitalization of the local economy while restoring basic services and strengthening community security, peacebuilding and social cohesion.

Gabriel Shaddar hosted Kiya Masahiko, Ambassador of Japan to South Sudan, Bernard Worm, Head of Development Cooperation, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ola Nilsmo, Counsellor, Development Cooperation, Embassy of Sweden, Jean-Luc Stalon, Acting Country Director, UNDP South Sudan and Angela Griep, Resource Mobilization Manager, UNICEF South Sudan to discuss the significance of the recovery and stabilization program.
