“Most of the Refugees in Imvempi are young people, most of them not older than 18-years. Some officials told me that the young refugees feel safe here and their only hope is that the visit of the secretary general will bring a whole big relief to the challenges they face.” – Radio Miraya Reporter Sani Martin at Imvempi Refugee camp in Yumbe.

Sani is in Imvempi Refugee Camp in Uganda’s Arua district, as part of a team of journalists covering the Solidarity summit on refugees.

The summit, which kicks off today, seeks to raise $2 billion dollars to meet the humanitarian needs of refugees and to support the hosting communities over the next four years.

On a field visit to Imvempi Refugee camp, Sani seized this opportunity to immerse himself in the issues related to the plight of more than 100 – thousand South Sudanese refugees in Imvempi.
