Jonglei authorities say calls for dismissal of Equatorians from NGOs are ‘anti peace’ #SouthSudan

The Acting Governor of Jonglei says the state government is working to ensure the safety of all people.

The assurances from Agot Alier Leek, who is also the deputy governor, follow the circulation of a letter purportedly from a group of youth from Bor demanding the removal of aid workers originally from Equatoria holding positions in non-governmental organisations.

The letter gives a 72-hour deadline, accusing them of dominating positions in international and national NGOs.

Agot Alier Leek says his administration is taking steps to handle the situation responsibly to ensure the intimidation does not endanger the safety and lives of the people.

He spoke to Radio Miraya reporter Samuel Mach in this interview.
