Torit Road Ambush Leaves 2 policemen dead

Two police officers are dead, after an ambush near Idolu Bridge in Torit County East. The incident on Tuesday evening occurred as the police officers and three other civilians travelled to Lobira in Kidepo Valley County, to rescue a pick-up truck belonging to a businessman in Torit. The truck reportedly broke down, prompting the businessperson asked for escort services to rescue the truck. The rescue mission was disrupted by an ambush that left the police officers dead. the whereabouts of the businessperson of Somali origin are still unknown.
